I’m Alexis Ohanian, I’m best known as a founder/CEO/investor, but this is my first piece of art (not withstanding creating logos like Reddit’s Snoo and hundreds of variations) and my first NFT. I made it to celebrate the best thing I've ever created. My wife took this photo on a family trip to Mougins, France. I’ve never made low poly artwork before, but I’ve long been obsessed with the style. I’ve always found the process of creating art to be very therapeutic and now that I’ve made this, I think I’ll be doing it more often. Thanks, Kevin & the entire PROOF community.

Second Moon is an animation created in 2022 using a digital moiré patterning technique, consisting in the overlap of two images to generate the illusion of a third image. In my practice, this process is often used to created abstract textural works inspired by atmospheric and natural forces. In Second Moon, the animation oscillates between abstraction and figuration: it can be read as an abstract composition or as a figurative landscape representing the reflection of a celestial object over a liquid surface. At large, Second Moon relates to many histories of abstraction and figuration in painting, optical art, moving image, computer graphics and screen savers. The notion of surface is important in this work, as it constantly plays with the perception of depth and flatness within the space of the screen.

Larva Labs

This Protoglyph is the output from an early algorithm exploration for the Autoglyphs, but operates at much higher resolution and detail. These initial explorations were done before we realized just how limiting executing everything on-chain was going to be. Once we incorporated those limitations the resolution and output format changed somewhat, but you can still see some of the original DNA present from this early prototype.

Quoting one of my favorite chapters in the “Original Dune” series: "A no-ship was a starship, and type of no-chamber, that was invisible to prescience. This meant that its movements or occupants could not be seen by many of those who possessed prescient powers, such as Guild Navigators."

In this case, we are going to call them “Shell Navigators.” Every collector of the fragments of these “Ixian No-ships” will have a part in this generative-sci-fi inspired worlds I've been inspired by from the very start of my journey. This is not a roadmap but as the story says “it's all part of the path triggered by a perceived need to diversify the human race and allow it to evolve.”
