What is it?
With the backing of the Lunar Society Macroverse will, in conjunction with the Moonbirds, Mythics and Oddities communities, produce a series of comics that will expand the existing mythology into a compelling, global entertainment franchise.
This will be achieved in three primary ways:
1 - Core Story:
The Moonbirds Comic Series “Core Story” is a six episode season that defines the world of Moonbirds and Mythics. This will be a contained and satisfying tale in its own right, and the first in a planned multi-season arc. This will be released as collectible NFT editions, as well as through our Macroverse app in its proprietary TapStory format. (https://macroverse.onelink.me/VuAp/mv)
2 - Illustrated Lore:
As the Core Story is being produced, we will work with the community to craft and Illustrate the Lore for the Moonbirds/Mythics Franchise. We intend that this become recognized as the official canon for the Moonbirds Universe and paves the way for the third part of our plan.
3 - Community Storytelling / Anthology Short Stories:
We start with live storytelling masterclasses within the community. From there, we help holders pitch and refine stories based on their Moonbirds, Mythics and Oddities. These are then pitched to the community to vote on. The ten stories with the most votes are “greenlit” into production and made into comic shorts with a range of amazing artists. This set of stories explores new corners of the Moonbirds universe, is considered canonical and is released as it’s own collection of NFTs and on our app.
This community storytelling process is one we have successfully done before with the GSA, Bushidos and our own communities. The excitement and engagement it creates delivers on the promise of web3 co-creation within a cohesive storyworld that is broadly appealing. We are Macroverse, a web3 storytelling studio-
The Macroverse founders have created and produced content for 75+ years collectively, including comics, animation, games, film & TV. They have been directly responsible for 100M+ downloads and 20M+ views of content, and have gone through this process in other communities (Bushidos, GSA, DeadTown and more yet to be announced), with excellent results.
We’re fully doxed, have started, bought and sold companies and have collectively collaborated with the likes of Steven Spielberg, Seth Rogen, Quentin Tarantino, Bill Hader and Pendleton Ward.

Ricci Rukavina- Started Disney’s mobile gaming division, before launching his previous company Kung Fu Factory, producing titles like Adventure Time, Pacific Rim & WWE.
Eben Matthews- Designer and creator with 25 years in advertising, gaming and animation, including work for Nike, Rovio, Activision and directing the Creepshow Halloween Special for AMC.
Adam Martin- Film & TV background of directing and producing, ensuring creative content pumps, budgets are met and schedules keep rolling.
Developers
Pagzi Tech Inc has been working in the space since 2017 and are pioneers of the full web3 stack including innovations in smart contract and wallet integrations, dynamic and interactive NFTs and tokenization.
Product strategy
We will begin with 4 storytelling sessions within the community which will:
Be educational and interactive.
Develop and align concepts for the Lore & Core Series.
Teach narrative approaches to pitching holders characters and their stories.
Work with community members to refine their Anthology stories.

Simultaneously we will be assembling the creative teams for the Core Series and Anthology. With artists in place, visual development on the Lore and Core Series begins while both are being written.
After the storytelling sessions the community will have the opportunity to pitch their short story ideas for inclusion in the Anthology series. Voting determines which of these is greenlit into production. We then pair those stories with artists who will bring those adventures to life.
With the Illustrated Lore in production, writing the Core Series is happening concurrently. Production on the Core Series begins upon completion of the Lore.
The final Core Series and Anthology Series is then released in our unique TapStory format on the existing Macroverse mobile app (Available on iOS and Android) as well as in collectible NFT editions on our soon to be released Macroverse Platform (Preview video in the previous section)
What are the risks?
The biggest risk for the project, as with any artistic endeavor, is that the end result won’t resonate with a large enough audience to qualify as a “hit” outside of the core fanbase
The best way to mitigate this concern is to produce a fantastic, broadly compelling series and then get it in front of as many people as possible. This should generate excitement around the series and, hopefully, begin a flywheel effect connecting web3 and traditional media around the franchise.
Success in this way is also tiered. We might sell out of NFT comics but gain little exposure outside of the web3 audience. Or we might secure a physical publishing deal but not get a film or TV option etc. Every step, however, brings us closer to the ultimate goal of broad enthusiasm, brand recognition and a larger entertainment franchise.
Success will also be measured in terms of community. Significant community engagement, and having a final product that brings joy to that community, can be regarded as a success in its own right.
Building a world wide entertainment franchise is hard. We’ll put the pieces on the board, but all of them have to fall into place to achieve our ultimate goal. So… LFG!
What will the money actually be spent on? Do you expect any other money to come in related to this project, e.g. revenues?

Broadly speaking, the funding provided by the Lunar Society will be divided into three buckets:

This initial funding brings us through the production of the Illustrated Lore, the Core Series, and the Anthology Series. The goal is that income generated from sales of the NFTs, licensing, media exploitation etc would then be used to fund additional seasons of the core series and continue to expand the franchise and brand.
