What is it?
Mosaics is proposing a uniquely engaging and interactive event designed to unite the communities of Moonbird, Oddities, and Proof holders through a shared creative experience. As a platform at the forefront of collaborative pixel-art experiences, Mosaics is uniquely suited to host this innovative and immersive gathering.
The event will unfold over the course of 24 hours, during which the participants will co-create a singular CC0 pixel-art canvas. The canvas will be live, and in real-time, all the participants will have the ability to contribute their individual artistic touches to it, directly from their Ethereum-based web3 wallets. This community-driven process ensures every holder has a say in the final design, creating a truly collective and democratic art experience.
The resulting canvas will not only represent a unique snapshot in time but also serve as a testament to the combined creativity and vibrancy of the Moonbird, Oddities, and Proof communities. Every pixel placed will contribute to the overarching narrative, and the final piece could embody anything from shared cultural values and ideas to the latest meme or artistic innovation.
Following the event, participants will have the opportunity to mint the collaborative canvas on manifold.xyz, a known platform for creating and managing smart contract functionality for unique assets on the Ethereum blockchain. This minting process will carry a small fee, but it offers the participants a tangible memory of the event. More importantly, the proceeds from these minting operations will be channeled directly into the Moonbird Society treasury, offering a meaningful way to financially support the ongoing activities of the Moonbird community.
By bringing these two distinct yet harmonious communities together through the Mosaics platform, we hope to foster a deeper sense of shared identity, artistic collaboration, and mutual support.

Wolfy (@itswolfy), one of our founders, is a tech wizard with extensive experience in creating software used by millions. He is an early participant in the NFT space and has a vision of devoting his skills full-time to web3.

FunkyDuck (@funky_ducks), our design and art expert, has years of experience in high-profile entertainment and media firms. Her vibrant visuals have graced our platform's Pixies, and she has a unique talent for weaving cc0 projects and memes into cultural and community touchstones.

Product strategy
Our game plan for this event is straightforward, efficient, and built on the robust foundation of the existing Mosaics platform. Given the current state of readiness, we anticipate the event could be up and running within a week of the proposal's approval.
Here's a brief timeline:
1. Promotion Stage (Day 1 - Day 7): Immediately following the approval of the proposal, we'll begin promoting the event across various platforms, including social media and Discord, to ensure a wide reach within the Moonbird, Oddities, and Proof holder communities.
2. Event Launch (Day 8): On this day, we'll open the Mosaics platform for the 24-hour event, where Moonbird, Oddities, and Proof holders will collaboratively create a unique pixel-art canvas.
3. Minting (Day 8 - Day 10): Following the event, the co-created canvas will be immediately made available for minting on manifold.xyz. The minting process, designed to be streamlined and user-friendly, will have detailed instructions to assist participants. Each mint will cost approximately 0.01 ETH. From these proceeds, 33% will be directed to the Mosaics team to cover server costs and week-long management expenses, while the remaining 66% will be contributed to the Moonbird Society treasury. This revenue distribution not only supports the ongoing operations of Mosaics but also significantly benefits the Moonbird Society, reinforcing the symbiotic relationship between the two communities.
What are the risks?
Given that the Mosaics platform is already built, operational, and capable of supporting over 10,000 concurrent users in real-time, we anticipate no significant technical risks or challenges. Additionally, the minting process via manifold.xyz has been designed to be seamless and user-friendly, mitigating potential user-experience issues.
However, it's worth noting that community engagement is key to the success of such an event. We will strive to ensure robust promotion and clear communication to maximize participation. We'll also provide guidance and support throughout the event to help attendees navigate the platform and contribute to the collective artwork.
What will the money actually be spent on? Do you expect any other money to come in related to this project, e.g. revenues?
As the Mosaics platform is fully operational and the event can be organized within our existing resources, we are not seeking any funding for this proposal. All costs associated with running the event and minting the resultant canvas will be covered by the nominal minting fee charged to the participants who choose to mint the canvas on manifold.xyz. Therefore, the event is designed to be self-sustaining, with no need for external financial support.
