Moonbirds announced their new north star as being fully focused on art. This proposal embraces that idea. There are no gimmicks or tricks. It is an opportunity for a community member (and day-one nester) to use their knowledge and passion to build a beautiful generative art collection and bring this space we all love so much to a greater audience. I will also keep the Proof community abreast of any new pieces added to the collection.

Support artists and bring awareness of the generative art movement to Ireland, a country with a deep and rich history in the arts. Commentary on generative art has been unusually absent in Irish discourse.

Convert the funding to ETH and stake. Potentially use a small amount of the initial capital to kickstart the collection with a significant piece (e.g. Vera Molnár) and use the yield from staking to add to the collection over time. Also, leave open the option to use some of the capital for what might be considered an important drop (e.g. the recent Distant collection by William Mapan).

The yield may seem small however after a few months the fund would be in a position to collect (as an example) a piece from Color Study by Jeff Davis which is incredibly exciting when you consider it.

As you will see below I have demonstrated in the past my ability to curate a world class art collection on an extremely constrained budget.

There is also tremendous generative art below 0.1E across the Art Blocks collection. The most recent Braindrops release, Mappings by Ira Greenberg, was 0.1E to mint so there is plenty of scope to build a varied and interesting collection to showcase the world of generative art to an Irish audience.

As the staking rewards accumulate and compound over time, the collection can in theory run forever.

Use the collection to build awareness of this burgeoning art movement, in Ireland, a country with a rich history in the arts but one where there is very little commentary on generative art.

Because this is a pure art proposal I do not see any risks here. The goal is to carefully curate a generative art collection on a relatively small budget and I have proven in the past that I am capable of doing this.

The cost for this would be used to maintain the tool and continue creating designs for new graphics to use in EmojiBox, including those for the OG community of Moonbirds.

Our PFPs are us, but often lose relevance in our daily lives outside of web3. Digital self-expressions on daily communications platform are limited to predetermined range of stock image emojis. It takes too much time and effort to create custom graphics and load onto the platforms of choice. But we would be remiss if we didn’t use this powerful way to ingrain brands into culture – emoji/stickers on daily communication platforms. 

No available tool allows a one-click generation and easy export of entire sets of emojis/stickers from digital assets. Instead, one would need to create custom graphics, adjust to appropriate formats to each platform and export.

This project will build a browser-based tool to allow unlocking of digital assets for use as expressions across different communication platforms – no editing, coding, or other technical expertise required. It combines the use of algorithms, art and design to generate graphics, and will focus on the EmojiBox. The full vision would include a future second component that is a .gif generation engine, the .gifBox.

With a click of a button, holders initiate the “unlocking” event to free their birbs from the shackles of only living on the blockchain. This generates the first set of digital emoji/sticker pack (10-15) based on the birb, give a chance to customise (e.g. add text), then be exported to communications apps (e.g. WhatsApp). Subject to the capabilities of the platform, these may be kept exclusive or shared. 

Creators can also contribute directly to the library of emojis and possible customisations. We will build the rails to enable creators to contribute to the brand building process, for themselves, for their assets, and for the wider community. A cross-platform tool to make emoji packs based on your NFT. In a few clicks, holders can generate a set of graphics based on their Moonbird for use in apps they use for daily communications (e.g. WhatsApp) that represents them, and even share them for wider use. This will be initially exclusive and free to use for MB holders, with the intention of opening it up for paid use by other communities.

Resourcing & advising (Mark Pavlyukovskyy)
Founder and investor, Mark exited his first company, Piper after raising $15m in VC funding from top investors in silicon valley and the world in 2018. 

He was invited to go to New Zealand during the pandemic and started a $15m VC fund investing into the local tech ecosystem: https://www.nzvc.co.nz/ To date the fund has backed over 35 innovative companies including 7 crypto ones. 

He is also a partner at a blockchain development studio (MCB) where they've developed extensive NFT and crypto projects: https://mycreativitybox.com/

He has a degree from Princeton and dropped out of his Machine Learning PhD at Oxford to pursue his first company. He will be leading the MCB team that will develop this project.

Let's peek behind the curtain and dive into what it's like to be a creator, builder, and collector in this space, warts and all. The content produced is designed to be real and relatable, supporting aspiring artists along their creative journey and enabling collectors and supporters to get a more holistic understanding of what it's like to be a creative in the wild west of Web3.

Because the series will be publicly available, anyone can watch it. It'll be available on all major platforms. This easy access could help onboard people from the traditional art realm into the NFT space while concurrently promoting the Moonbirds/Proof/Mythics brand (through their association with the project via the Lunar Society funding mechanism). I'm happy to highlight that association in the Introduction to each episode - assuming the team is okay with that. Additionally, I could promote upcoming drops, community meet-ups, etc... during the introduction, providing one more place for community members to hear or be reminded of important events happening in the Proof ecosystem.

During the recent Mythics launch, Colin's vulnerable story about his art career led to a whirlwind of supportive Twitter activity. Folks across this community shared their own stories about facing the Dred, overcoming adversity, cultivating resiliency, and living more wholeheartedly. These stories were profound and inspiring, but they were also relatable. We all have our own darkness to confront.  

The Proof team recognizes this collective truth and leaned into integrating the deeper layers of the human experience into the Mythics lore, e.g., Justin tweeted that the collection is "a story about what it means to come up against seemingly insurmountable odds, and to hold strong with those convictions. To look fear in the face and declare that it won't have the last word."
I propose creating more content that supports and aligns with this journey.

I want to record six episodes as a beta test to see if people like the angle/concept. I think we could start with artists within the community, if they're open to it. For instance:

For example, The Daily Countdown focuses primarily on economic updates and current events, while Proof Signal focuses on community happenings and the broader NFT market. Although the 100 Proof show does periodically include artist spotlights, these segments are generally brief, not regularly recorded, and they focus on anecdotal descriptions of recent events, drops, and creations rather than in-depth interviews.

2. Event Launch (Day 8): On this day, we'll open the Mosaics platform for the 24-hour event, where Moonbird, Oddities, and Proof holders will collaboratively create a unique pixel-art canvas. 

3. Minting (Day 8 - Day 10): Following the event, the co-created canvas will be immediately made available for minting on manifold.xyz. The minting process, designed to be streamlined and user-friendly, will have detailed instructions to assist participants. Each mint will cost approximately 0.01 ETH. From these proceeds, 33% will be directed to the Mosaics team to cover server costs and week-long management expenses, while the remaining 66% will be contributed to the Moonbird Society treasury. This revenue distribution not only supports the ongoing operations of Mosaics but also significantly benefits the Moonbird Society, reinforcing the symbiotic relationship between the two communities.

Game Development and Content Creation

- Having these sprite sheets available for Moonbirds will allow indie video game developers and content creators the opportunity to build new experiences by leveraging the animations. Additional opportunities for community-led projects may be possible through game jams or hackathons. Our team hopes to explore a game development opportunity utilizing the Animated Moonbirds through a follow-up proposal after the completion of this project!

Our team at The Pixel Shop will produce the entire 10k Moonbirds collection as animated and game-ready 2D pixel sprites.  To accomplish this, we will need to design sprite sheets (or a sequence of images) for each Moonbird asset in the collection, from their bodies and feathers, to their headwear and eyes.  These sprite sheets will then result in an animated version of each asset when played together.  We will then reassemble the collection based on the existing metadata for each token and produce a fully-assembled sprite sheet for each Moonbird in the collection.  

With these sprite sheet, each Moonbird will then come to life with a 6-frame, four directional walk animation, and an 8-frame idle animation.  


Our team at The Pixel Shop will produce the entire 10k Moonbirds collection as animated and game-ready 2D pixel sprites. To accomplish this, we will need to design sprite sheets (or a sequence of images) for each Moonbird asset in the collection, from their bodies and feathers, to their headwear and eyes. These sprite sheets will then result in an animated version of each asset when played together. We will then reassemble the collection based on the existing metadata for each token and produce a fully-assembled sprite sheet for each Moonbird in the collection. With these sprite sheet, each Moonbird will then come to life with a 6-frame, four directional walk animation, and an 8-frame idle animation.

Our team would like to propose animating the full 10k collection into game-ready pixel sprite sheets used to integrate into the Worldwide Webb metaverse and establish the foundation for Moonbirds 2D game development!

Our budget estimates 80 hours of illustration, 300 hours of animation, 80 hours of project management/quality assurance, and 40 hours of programming.  In total, the project scope will be approximately 500 hours and our funding request is priced at $60 per hour or $30,000 USDC total; consistent with market rates. Harmony Insights

Expenses:

Revenues:
Harmony will charge ~0.035 ETH to mint it's NFT which will launch in Aug/Sep 2023. 3,500 mints is the goal based on an open mint window lasting until the end of 2023. During the lead up and post NFT launch period, Harmony will activate it's "phase 1" marketing plan to build awareness and convert Web3 and Web2 consumers (see image: "2023 Fund Allocation & Activity Schedule"). Harmony will continue to market and mint NFTs in 2024 and beyond. 

Consumers who mint in 2023 are guaranteed access to Harmony products until the end of 2024. For each year following 2024, non-Moonbirds will be required to pay ~0.035 ETH (Moonbirds have a 2-wk window to "re-claim" for free each year). 

Recurring revenue is becoming increasingly difficult in the post-royalty era. To account for this, Harmony will offer it's NFT through a renewal-based model. Different structures are being considered, such as: annual/monthly subscription or NFTs with expiration dates.

25% of NFT sales will be directed to the DAO until the $50,000 has been paid back in full. Following reimbursement, the DAO will begin receiving a 5% royalty on future Harmony NFT sales.

Marketing: Strategy and materials associated with digital and IRL Revenues: Harmony will charge ~0.035 ETH to mint it's NFT which will launch in Aug/Sep 2023. 3,500 mints is the goal based on an open mint window lasting until the end of 2023. During the lead up and post NFT launch period, Harmony will activate it's "phase 1" marketing plan to build awareness and convert Web3 and Web2 consumers (see image: "2023 Fund Allocation &amp; Activity Schedule"). Harmony will continue to market and mint NFTs in 2024 and beyond. Consumers who mint in 2023 are guaranteed access to Harmony products until the end of 2024. For each year following 2024, non-Moonbirds will be required to pay ~0.035 ETH (Moonbirds have a 2-wk window to "re-claim" for free each year). Recurring revenue is becoming increasingly difficult in the post-royalty era. To account for this, Harmony will offer it's NFT through a renewal-based model. Different structures are being considered, such as: annual/monthly subscription or NFTs with expiration dates. 25% of NFT sales will be directed to the DAO until the $50,000 has been paid back in full. Following reimbursement, the DAO will begin receiving a 5% royalty on future Harmony NFT sales.

I am not requesting any funding for this proposal. If the collaboration proves successful, I may consider submitting another proposal in the future to fully transform the cabin into a Moonbirds-themed space. Our goal is to simply encourage healthier living. Moonbirds will start to receive recognition outside of the web3 space with future banners at philanthropic events to spread the Moonbird brand name, sponsored ads on podcast and YT content will also add to brand outreach. Healthybirds will also be working closely with medical students who will be introduced to web3 and the Moonbirds community.

As this walk to unlock mechanic evolves, future implementations may include larger-scale fitness events or even a subscription box service with walking rewards.
